If you’ve purchased a vehicle manufactured by BMW, Chrysler, Daimler Trucks, Ford, General Motors, Honda, Mazda, Mitsubishi, Nissan, Subaru or Toyota in the last 15 years, Vision Collision wants you to know that your vehicle may be included in the mandatory recall of 34 million airbags manufactured by Takata. The US Department of Transportation has mandated the recall due to faulty inflators on the suspect airbags. Driver and passenger side airbags are affected by the faulty equipment. The propellant in these inflators deteriorates over time and the ruptures caused by the deterioration have been responsible for 6 deaths world wide.
The NHTSA has created an infocenter website, which includes links to a VIN Checker and to specific manufacturer pages, where you can enter your vehicle’s VIN to determine if your vehicle is included in the recall. Though the recall currently stands at 34 million, the NHTSA continues to investigate and this list may expand, so be sure to check back throughout the coming weeks. Vision Collision encourages you to have your vehicle’s VIN handy and click here to visit the NHTSA Recall spot light page for more information on the recall and for links to the VIN Checkers.
