YOUR Vehicle, YOUR Decision: In other words, it's your vehicle. You choose the shop.
Arizona Law states:
"A person in this state has the right to choose any repair facility for the repair of a motor vehicle loss"
If you have been in an accident, it is your right to choose if you want your vehicle repaired, and where you want the repair work performed. Your insurance company may try to pressure you to use their provider, but they cannot legally insist or require that you repair your vehicle at all, or that you use a company of their choosing. Shop around and choose the company you are most comfortable leaving your vehicle with.
Even if the estimate for your repair work is done by one shop, you have the right to have the work performed at a different shop (though the new shop is not obligated to abide by the original estimate). Be sure to inform your insurance company of the shop of your choice before a check is issued.
